Concrete Canoe

What is the Queen's Concrete Canoe Team?

  • The Queen’s Concrete Canoe Team (QCCT) is a completely student-run, competitive design team that competes in the annual Canadian National Concrete Canoe Competition (CNCCC)
  • Students collaborate in every stage of the project to meet the unique challenge of building a canoe made of concrete. Applying classroom knowledge, and trying some ideas of their own, students are encouraged to think outside the box to create an innovative and ultimately successful solution.
  • Students oversee every step from the design and construction to promotion and sponsorship and, of course, race day.
  • Queen's Engineering graduates are industry leaders and cooperation with the students at the undergraduate level can be an important investment for the future.
  • Queen’s Engineering students are motivated and resourceful and strive to make the most of all industry relations
